Add Watermark to Video – Logo or Text

Add watermark to video files with your logo or a line of text, then apply the same mark to a whole batch in one go. Set the size, the opacity and the spot on the live preview once; every video gets the same placement, scaled to its own frame, whether it is landscape or vertical. Your videos and your logo stay on your device, and ProMedia adds no watermark of its own.

Batch-friendly: add many files and they are processed one after another — if one fails, the rest still finish.

How it runs

Video is decoded and encoded by your device’s media hardware through WebCodecs — usually several times faster than real time.
GPU canvas
Pixels are drawn and composited with the GPU-accelerated canvas.

Logo or text watermark: which to use

A logo watermark brands the video; a text watermark names the owner. Both are drawn into every frame for the whole length of the clip, so they cannot be switched off by the viewer.

What size should a video watermark be?

Small enough not to distract, big enough to read on a phone: 10% to 15% of the video width suits most logos. Size is set as a share of the width, so one setting gives a proportionally equal logo on every video in a batch.

Where to put a logo on a video

A corner is the convention: viewers expect it there and it covers the least action. Keep a margin from the edge, because TVs and some players trim the outer border, and on vertical videos avoid the bottom and right edges, where TikTok, Reels and Shorts place their buttons and captions. For proof copies sent to clients, a larger, half-transparent mark in the centre is harder to crop out.

How to make a transparent watermark for video

Use a logo saved as PNG or SVG with a transparent background, so only the shape appears on the video, then lower Opacity to 40–70% to let the picture show through. A JPG logo always carries its rectangular background. To cut a logo out of its background first, use Remove Background and save the result as a PNG.

Watermark videos on iPhone, Android or a computer

Phone gallery apps rarely offer a logo watermark for videos. Open this page in Safari or Chrome, choose your clips and the logo file, and drag the logo with your finger. On a computer you can drop a whole folder; every file is processed with the same settings. Each result is an H.264 MP4, re-encoded once at a quality a notch above plain conversions, with the sound copied untouched.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Watermarking photos too? Watermark photo uses the same settings for JPG and PNG images.

  • Want a title that appears for a few seconds instead of a permanent mark? Use Add Text to Video.

  • Compress the branded videos for sharing with the video compressor after watermarking, not before.

Add Watermark to Video FAQ

How do I put my logo on a video for free?

Choose Logo image, pick your logo file, drag it to a corner on the preview and press Process. It is free and needs no account, and the only watermark on the result is yours.

How do I add a watermark to many videos at once?

Drop all the videos together, set the logo, size, opacity and position once and press Process. Each video gets the same mark in the same relative place, whether it is landscape or vertical.

Can I add a watermark without losing quality?

A watermark has to be drawn into every frame, so the video is re-encoded once. ProMedia uses a higher quality setting for this than for plain conversions, so the difference is hard to see. AAC and Opus sound, which most videos have, is copied without re-encoding.

How do I add a watermark on iPhone?

Open this page in Safari, choose the videos from Photo Library and the logo from Photos or Files. Drag the logo into place, press Process and save the results back to Photos.

Are your videos uploaded anywhere?

No. Your videos are processed by your own browser on your own device. There is no server that receives files, so nothing is uploaded, stored or shared. You can even switch to airplane mode once the page has loaded.
