Voice Changer for Audio & Video

A free voice changer for recordings and videos: turn a voice into a robot, a chipmunk, a deep movie-trailer voice, a crackly old radio, a phone call, an alien or an echo in a cave. Drop an audio file or a video, pick an effect and its intensity, and download. Videos keep their picture untouched, and your voice is processed on your own device, never uploaded.

How to change your voice in a recording

  1. Step 1: Drop an audio recording or a video on the box above. Several files at once are fine.

  2. Step 2: Choose a Voice effect: Robot, Chipmunk, Deep, Echo, Telephone, Old radio, Alien or Cave.

  3. Step 3: Set Intensity. 70% is a strong but clear default; lower it for a subtle change, raise it for a cartoonish one.

  4. Step 4: Press Apply, listen to the result and download it.

How it runs

Web Audio
Audio is processed with the browser’s built-in Web Audio engine, sample-accurate and fast.
Hardware video engine
Video is decoded and encoded by your device’s media hardware through WebCodecs — usually several times faster than real time.

Voice effects online: every effect at a glance

Each effect is a fixed chain of signal processing, not an AI voice model, so it sounds the same every time and works on any voice or language. The Intensity slider scales the effect; the table shows what it does at the ends of its range.

Voice effects and what they change
EffectWhat it doesIntensity controls
RobotMono voice through a 52 Hz ring modulator and a short metallic resonanceHow much robot is mixed in, and how much it rings
ChipmunkRaises the pitch while keeping the speed+4 to +12 semitones
DeepLowers the pitch while keeping the speed, adds low end−3 to −8 semitones
EchoRepeats every 0.3 s, bouncing between left and rightNumber and loudness of the repeats
TelephoneCuts everything below about 320 Hz and above 3.3 kHz, adds a little gritHow narrow and distorted it sounds
Old radioBand-limited to about 480 Hz–3.8 kHz with saturation, hiss and crackleAmount of distortion and noise
AlienHigher pitch with a wobble (vibrato) and a metallic shimmer+2 to +5 semitones and wobble depth
CaveA long echo inside a large, dark reverbEcho level and reverb size
Echo, Cave and Alien let the last repeat or reverb fade out instead of cutting it off, so the file gets longer: by 1–3 s with Echo, about 4–6 s with Cave and 1 s with Alien, depending on Intensity.

How do I make my voice deeper?

Choose Deep. It lowers the pitch by 3 to 8 semitones depending on Intensity (about 6.5 at the default 70%) and adds a gentle bass shelf, while the speed and length stay the same. Below about 40% it sounds like a naturally lower voice; above 80% it turns into a slow-motion monster.

For exact control, the pitch changer lets you pick the number of semitones yourself, from −12 to +12, with no extra bass added.

How do I make a robot voice?

Choose Robot. The voice is mixed to mono, its lowest rumble is removed, and it is multiplied by a 52 Hz tone (ring modulation), which gives the classic buzzing, metallic sound. A very short comb filter adds the “inside a tin can” resonance. Intensity sets the mix and the ringing: at 100% you hear only the robot, while at 0% roughly a third of the robot is still blended with your own voice for a lighter electronic tint.

Like any robot voice changer, it works best on clear speech without music underneath. For robot voices from typed text instead, text to speech creates a voice file you can then run through this effect.

Change the voice in a video online

This also works as a voice changer for video. Drop an MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM video and keep Save as on Same as input. Only the soundtrack is processed: the video stream is copied into the new file without re-encoding, so the picture stays exactly as sharp as before, and the new voice is written as AAC at 160 kbps (Opus for WebM). Other video formats are saved as MP4.

Choose MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC under Save as if you want just the processed audio. Background music in the video is changed along with the voice, because the effect applies to the whole soundtrack.

What this voice changer cannot do

Honest limits, so you do not waste time on the wrong tool.

  • No live or real-time voice changing. It processes files, so it cannot change your voice on Discord, in games or during calls; that needs a desktop app that sits between your microphone and the call.
  • No AI voice cloning. It will not make you sound like a specific person or turn a male voice into a convincing female one. Pitch effects shift the whole voice, formants included.
  • No separate voice and music. In a song or a video with music, the effect applies to everything. Isolate the vocal first with the vocal remover if you only want to change the singer.

Why use this voice changer

  • Your voice stays private. A voice is personal, biometric data. It is processed in your browser and never sent to a server.
  • Video in, video out. No need to split the soundtrack, change it and put it back; the picture is copied automatically.
  • Free, with no watermark. No sign-up, no added jingle, no time limit on the recording.
  • Batch. Drop several clips and every one gets the same effect.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Record a clean take first. A quiet room makes every effect sound better; the voice recorder records straight to MP3 or WAV in your browser.

  • Using it as a deep voice changer for a narration? Try Deep at 30–40% for a voice that still sounds human. Higher settings are for monsters and villains.

  • Echo sounds best on short phrases with gaps between them; on fast speech, lower Intensity so repeats do not pile up.

  • Telephone and Old radio are great for flashbacks, voicemail scenes and intros in a podcast or video.

  • Want the voice faster or slower as well? Run the result through the audio speed changer.

Voice Changer FAQ

How do I change my voice in a recording?

Drop the recording on this page, pick one of the eight effects under Voice, set Intensity and press Apply. The changed recording plays on the result card and downloads as a file. It works with MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG and most other audio formats.

How do I change the voice in a video online for free?

Drop the video here and keep Save as on Same as input. The soundtrack gets the effect and the picture is copied into the new video without re-encoding. There is no watermark and no sign-up.

Can I use this voice changer on Discord or phone calls?

No. This page changes voices in files, not live audio. For real-time use you need a desktop voice changer that creates a virtual microphone. You can still record a clip, change it here and share the file on Discord.

How do I make my voice sound like a chipmunk?

Choose Chipmunk. This chipmunk voice changer raises the pitch by 4 to 12 semitones depending on Intensity, about 9.6 at the default 70%, while keeping the original speed, so the words stay in sync with any video.

Is my voice uploaded anywhere?

No. The effect is applied by your browser on your device, so the recording never leaves it. That matters for a voice, which can identify you. The page keeps working offline once loaded.

Which voice effect is the funniest?

Chipmunk at 100% and Robot at 100% get the biggest reactions; Alien adds a wobble that works well for cartoons. For something more subtle, Telephone at 50% sounds like a real phone call.
