8D Audio Converter

This 8D audio converter makes any song circle slowly around your head: the music pans from ear to ear, darkens and softens as it passes behind you, and sits in a touch of room reverb. Set how fast it rotates and how much space to add, put on headphones and listen. It is free, needs no app and processes the song in your browser without uploading it.

How it runs

Web Audio
Audio is processed with the browser’s built-in Web Audio engine, sample-accurate and fast.
Hardware video engine
Video is decoded and encoded by your device’s media hardware through WebCodecs — usually several times faster than real time.

Choosing the rotation speed

The rotation setting is the time for one full circle around your head. Faster circles are more dramatic; slower ones feel more immersive and are easier to listen to for a whole song.

What is 8D audio?

8D audio is a stereo effect, not a new format: the music is panned in a slow circle and given some reverb so that, on headphones, it seems to move around your head. The “8D” is a nickname rather than a count of dimensions.

This converter also mimics two cues your ears use: a sound to one side reaches the far ear a fraction of a millisecond later, and a sound behind you is a little duller and quieter, so the circle feels round rather than just left-right.

Do I need headphones for 8D audio?

Yes, for the full effect. Each ear needs to hear its own channel. On speakers the two sides mix in the room, and the circling turns into the music simply swaying from left to right. Any wired or wireless headphones or earbuds work.

What is 16D or 32D audio?

The same effect under a bigger number. There is no technical standard behind 8D, 16D or 32D; videos with those labels use panning and reverb, sometimes with more reverb or faster movement. To make a “16D” or “32D” version here, raise Space and shorten the rotation.

Is 8D audio real surround sound?

No. Surround formats such as 5.1 or Dolby Atmos use more channels or object metadata. 8D audio is ordinary two-channel stereo, which is why it plays anywhere an MP3 does. Some listeners find fast rotation disorienting; if it bothers you, choose a slower rotation or stop listening.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Songs with a clear lead vocal work best; very wide mixes already move around and can get busy.

  • Want the 8D track as a video for YouTube? Turn it into an MP4 with MP3 to MP4.

  • Pair it with a gentle tempo drop from the slowed and reverb generator for a dreamy edit, or try the nightcore maker for the opposite mood.

8D Audio Converter FAQ

How do I make 8D audio?

Drop the song here, choose a rotation time (8 seconds is classic) and an amount of space, then press Apply. Download the result and listen on headphones.

Is 8D audio safe? Can it make you dizzy?

It is ordinary stereo music, but moving sound can feel disorienting to some people, especially at fast rotation and high volume. Use a slower rotation, keep the volume moderate and stop if you feel uncomfortable.

Does the 8D converter work on any song?

Yes, any audio file your browser can read, including MP3, M4A, WAV and FLAC. The song is mixed toward the centre first, so it can be moved around as one sound source.

Is my music uploaded?

No. The 8D effect is rendered by your browser on your device, so the song never reaches a server.
