Slow Motion Video Maker
This slow motion video maker slows any clip you have already filmed to 0.5×, 0.25× or anywhere between 0.1× and 0.9×. When there are not enough real frames, it blends neighbouring frames so the motion looks smooth instead of jerky, and voices can keep their natural pitch. It all happens in your browser, with no upload and no watermark.

How to make a video slow motion
Step 1: Drop your clip on the box above.
Step 2: Set Speed: 0.5× is half speed, 0.25× a quarter.
Step 3: Leave Smooth frames (blending) on for normal 30 fps footage. Switch it off for clips filmed at 120 or 240 fps, which already have the frames.
Step 4: Press Apply and download the slow-motion video.

Settings explained
- Audio
- Keep pitch: Natural voices
- Change pitch: Like a tape
- Mute
- Smooth frames (blending)
- Blends neighbouring frames to soften the stutter of repeated frames.
- Quality
- Only used when a stream has to be re-encoded. Compatible streams are copied with no quality loss.
- Faster: Smaller file, quickest export
- Balanced: Good quality at a sensible size
- Best quality: Largest file, slowest export
Formats
Batch-friendly: add many files and they are processed one after another — if one fails, the rest still finish.
How it runs
- Hardware video engine
- Video is decoded and encoded by your device’s media hardware through WebCodecs — usually several times faster than real time.
- FFmpeg (when needed)
- Older formats and a few filters use FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. It downloads once (about 31 MB) the first time it is needed and is cached for offline use.
Which footage makes the smoothest slow motion?
Smooth slow motion needs frames. A clip filmed at 240 frames per second still has 60 real frames per second at quarter speed; a 30 fps clip has only 7.5, so the gaps must be filled by blending. The table shows what you get with blending off.
| Filmed at | 0.5× | 0.25× | Advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 fps (normal phone video) | 15 fps, jerky | 7.5 fps, very jerky | Keep blending on |
| 60 fps | 30 fps, smooth | 15 fps, jerky | Blending off for 0.5×, on for slower |
| 120 fps (Slo-mo) | 60 fps, smooth | 30 fps, smooth | Blending off |
| 240 fps (Slo-mo) | 60 fps, smooth | 60 fps, smooth | Blending off |
Can you make a video slow motion after recording?
Yes. Slow motion is just playback at fewer frames per second than were recorded, so any finished clip can be slowed down later. Phones film Slo-mo at 120 or 240 fps for exactly that reason.
Normal 30 fps footage can be slowed too; frame blending mixes each pair of neighbouring frames into the in-between ones, which reads as a soft motion blur rather than a stutter. It does not invent new detail the way an AI interpolator would, so fast action at 0.25× from 30 fps footage still looks dreamy rather than crisp.
Why does slow motion video flicker?
Most indoor lights pulse with the mains power many times per second. At normal frame rates you never notice, but at 120 or 240 fps the camera catches the bright and dark phases, and slowing the clip makes the flicker obvious. Daylight or a battery-powered light avoids it. Slowing a clip here cannot remove flicker that was recorded, but blending can soften it a little.
Slow down a video on iPhone or Android
On iPhone, clips filmed in Slo-mo can be adjusted in Photos by dragging the slow section on the timeline; normal videos cannot be slowed there. Open this page in Safari for those, or in Chrome on Android. The audio option matters for speech: Keep pitch stretches voices without making them deep, Change pitch gives the classic slowed-down drawl, and Mute suits clips that will get music later.
Tips & troubleshooting
Slow only the best moment: cut it out with the video trimmer first, slow it here, then put it back with Merge Videos.
To turn a slow-motion clip back to normal speed, speed it up 2× or 4× with the video speed changer.
A forward-then-backward slow-mo loop looks great as a boomerang video.
Slow Motion Video Maker FAQ
How do I make a video slow motion?
Drop the clip here, set the speed to 0.5× or slower, keep Smooth frames on for normal footage and press Apply. The slowed file downloads with the speed in its name.
How do I make slow motion without losing quality?
Start from high-frame-rate footage, such as 120 or 240 fps, and turn blending off. When the slowed clip still has 10 to 60 real frames per second, the frames are only re-timed, not re-encoded.
Can I convert a slow motion video back to normal speed?
Yes. Speed it up by the same factor with the video speed changer: a clip slowed to 0.25× needs 4×. For iPhone Slo-mo clips, Photos can also shrink the slow section.
Is your clip uploaded anywhere?
No. Your clip is processed by your own browser on your own device. There is no server that receives files, so nothing is uploaded, stored or shared. You can even switch to airplane mode once the page has loaded.
