SVG to PNG Converter
Convert SVG to PNG in high quality: logos, icons and illustrations are rendered from their vector shapes at 1×, 2×, 4× or 8× their size, so edges stay crisp at any scale. Transparent backgrounds are kept, and JPG or WebP output is one click away. Convert a batch in your browser; the files are not uploaded.

How to convert SVG to PNG
Step 1: Add your SVG logos or icons to the box above; several at once is fine.
Step 2: Pick a Scale: 2× (default) suits websites and high-resolution screens, 4× or 8× suits print and large displays.
Step 3: Leave Convert to on PNG to keep transparency, or choose JPG or WebP.
Step 4: Press Convert and download the images or a ZIP.

Settings explained
- Scale
- Multiplies the SVG’s own width and height.
Formats
Batch-friendly: add many files and they are processed one after another — if one fails, the rest still finish.
How it runs
- GPU canvas
- Pixels are drawn and composited with the GPU-accelerated canvas.
- WebAssembly codecs
- Images are encoded with Squoosh-grade codecs (MozJPEG, WebP, AVIF, OxiPNG, JPEG XL). Each codec loads only when you use it.
SVG vs PNG: which is better for logos and the web?
Use SVG wherever it is accepted, because it scales perfectly and is often tiny. Use PNG where SVG is not accepted: social profiles, email signatures, many CMS fields, office documents, app stores and print forms. Converting SVG to PNG gives you a fixed-size snapshot of the vector at the resolution you choose.
| Feature | SVG | PNG |
|---|---|---|
| Type | Vector (shapes described in XML) | Raster (a grid of pixels) |
| Scaling | Sharp at any size | Sharp up to its pixel size, blurry beyond |
| Transparency | Yes | Yes |
| File size | Tiny for simple artwork, large for complex art | Grows with pixel size |
| Photos | Not suitable | Fine, though JPG is smaller |
| Accepted by | Browsers, design tools | Practically everything, including email and social media |
What is an SVG file?
An SVG file (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a drawing written as text: shapes, paths, colours and text described in XML, a W3C standard since 2001. Because a browser redraws those shapes at whatever size is needed, an SVG logo is equally sharp on a phone and on a billboard, and a simple icon can be just a few hundred bytes.
That flexibility is also why many places refuse SVG. A file that is really code can contain scripts or links, so social networks, email clients and many upload forms only take pixel formats such as PNG and JPG.
How to convert SVG to PNG without losing quality
Choose a scale big enough for the place the PNG will be used, because a PNG is only sharp up to its own pixel size. Each SVG is drawn from its vectors directly at the final size, not drawn small and enlarged, so 4× is as crisp as 1×, just bigger. The base size comes from the SVG’s width and height, or from its viewBox when those are missing.
| Scale | PNG size in pixels | File size | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1× | 120 × 80 | 1.7 KB | Exactly the designed size |
| 2× (default) | 240 × 160 | 3.9 KB | Websites on high-density screens |
| 4× | 480 × 320 | 9.6 KB | Slides, documents, app listings |
| 8× | 960 × 640 | 26.0 KB | Print and large displays |
Can I convert SVG to PNG with a transparent background?
Yes, and it is the default. Areas of the SVG with nothing drawn stay transparent in the PNG, and so do semi-transparent fills and soft edges. WebP output keeps transparency as well. JPG cannot store it, so with JPG selected a Background colour appears (white by default) and fills those areas.
If you want a coloured background on a PNG, the simplest route is to add a full-size rectangle behind the artwork in your design tool before exporting the SVG.
Why does my SVG look different after converting?
Usually because of fonts or linked files. The SVG is rendered the way a browser shows an SVG image, which never downloads external resources: web fonts loaded from a URL, linked images and external stylesheets are left out, and text falls back to an installed font. Convert text to outlines (paths) in your design app, or embed images inside the SVG, before converting. Scripts and animations are ignored; you get a still image of the first state.
Convert SVG to PNG on Mac or Windows
Every current browser can run this converter. Here is how it compares with tools you may already have.
Mac
Finder’s Quick Look previews SVG files, but macOS has no simple way to export them as PNG at a chosen scale. Here you pick 1× to 8× and convert several files at once, with transparency kept.
Windows
Windows has no built-in SVG exporter. Drag the files from File Explorer onto this page in Chrome or Edge and download the PNGs as a ZIP.
Design apps
Figma, Illustrator and Inkscape export PNGs too. This page is handy when you only have the SVG file, are on someone else’s computer, or need a batch at a fixed scale.
Why convert SVG to PNG with ProMedia
- Vector-sharp output. Each file is drawn at the final size from its shapes.
- Private by design. Unreleased logos and client artwork stay on your device; nothing is uploaded, and the renderer does not fetch anything the SVG links to.
- PNG, JPG or WebP from one page, with batch conversion and no file limits.
- Free, no watermark, no sign-up, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
Tips & troubleshooting
Making a favicon or app icon from an SVG? The PNG to ICO converter accepts SVG directly and renders every icon size from the vectors.
Need a PNG of an exact pixel size, such as 1200 × 630? Convert at a large scale, then use the image resizer.
Going the other way? The PNG to SVG converter traces a logo into vector paths.
Shrink the PNGs for a website with Compress PNG; flat logos often lose more than half their size.
Exporting icons for an app or a slide deck? Convert the same SVG at 1×, 2× and 4× in three quick runs to get every size you need.
SVG to PNG Converter FAQ
How do I convert SVG to PNG without losing quality?
Pick a scale large enough for where the PNG will be used: 2× for screens, 4× or 8× for print. The SVG is rendered from its vectors at that final size, so the edges are sharp.
Can I convert SVG to PNG with a transparent background?
Yes. PNG is the default output and keeps every transparent area. Only JPG fills transparency with a background colour.
How do I convert SVG to JPG?
Set Convert to JPG and pick a background colour for the transparent parts. JPG is smaller for complex artwork but slightly soft on hard edges, so PNG is usually better for logos.
SVG vs PNG: which is better for logos?
SVG for websites and design work, because it scales perfectly. PNG for places that do not accept SVG, such as social media, email signatures and office documents.
Why is the text in my PNG in the wrong font?
Web fonts linked from the SVG are not downloaded during rendering. Convert the text to outlines in your design app before exporting the SVG, then convert again.
What is the largest PNG I can make?
Up to 16,384 pixels per side, within the canvas memory of your device. iPhones and iPads allow about 16 megapixels in total; if the scale would exceed the limit, the image is rendered at the largest size that fits.
Are my SVG files uploaded?
No. They are rendered by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and the renderer does not request any external file the SVG references.
